Egr cel please help me

I got the egr insufficient flow code and I replaced the egr valve, selonid, the hoses and it still hasn't gone away. I was looking at the intake manifold and it looks very dirty where the egr valve mounts would cleaning it fix the problem?

Did you connect the egr hoses correctly underneath the intake manifold? Mine has popped off a few times. Did you clear the code after the fix?

If you use the search feature on these forums, you will find that this is a very common problem. Behind the egr valve are ports that exhaust gases flow through. Due to the nature of an internal combustion engine, there is a large amount of particulate carbon floating around in the egr system. Remove the valve, and perform a coat-hanger abortion with some brake cleaner and then use compressed air to blow it out. Re-install your valve and clear the codes - poof. Done. If it comes back AGAIN, you didnt abort hard enough. Stick the coat hanger in that ***** until she screams. That is all.
