hehehehe. well its true. i just dont know. i dont want it there. and removing it dose not have ill effects on the car. and it helps keep the inside of the intake manifold cleaner with it off. so off it go's

just connect the two together. It can be done by removing one of the vac lines off the point where they connect to the throttle body and just connecting one line to both nipples on the TB.

EGR valves serve a purpose, especially in naturally aspirated engines, as they help keep the cylinder temperatures up. With the evo, I would be interested to see how it would affect temperatures, due to the fact that the turbo is going to affect this measurement.

But yes, removing EGRs WILL keep your intake manifold much cleaner...but cleaner doesnt always mean "running well" or "making optimum power"

Removing the EGR creates more power. The less hot exhaust gases being ingested, the better. Do you honestly think that recycling hot exhaust gases back into the compressed intake stream is a good idea? **** no. It was put there by tree hugging pussies that want to save the planet. The only problem is, if you remove it, you will throw a CEL.

Increase cylinder temps? Decrease power? ......no.

EGR valves have a primary purpose of decreasing NOX emissions in gasoline engines. Under part throttle conditions, exhaust gas is recirculated back into the intake...this is done becasue exhaust is inert and dilutes the air(it doesn't burn anymore than it already has). This actually COOLS combustion temperatures and decreases emissions. As a side benefit, EGR can also give mild gains in fuel economy. These are both good things. (Incidently, VVT can accomplish many of the same goals - although it is a more costly system)

EGR valves are designed to shut off under heavy load...so when you do a 1/4 mile run...or full throttle out of a corner, you get no exhaust gas dilution.

So by going through all the effort of removing the egr system, you are increasing the emissions of your car, giving it worse gas mileage, increrasing cylinder temps, and not gaining anything in performance...not to mention throwing MIL lights. To each his own, I suppose.

you wont throw a cel no more. there is a fix for it in the rom settings... it was found while trying to get the jdm map sensor to work. turns out it works for this too...
