i am curious as well.

but with all tuner secrets, im sure it would come at a price.

it will be interesting to see how much the trade in allowance is.

tired of my car sounding like its gonna die with the damn Buscher mini battery kit, and **** sync aem.

BTW- Nice review Dave!
Before I first installed it I called them touched base and they said

"Do the conversion as stated on the forum"

Then after the car would not run they said

"I can't tell you not to use it but it does not work"

After using there base cal it never ran. It would prime the pump and then "cycle it" on and off while cranking. I went to log it for them tonight, it lost connection, main relay clicked off and it won't do anything! Key on relay won't come on, fuel pump won't prime, won't connect,.... nothing

This same car ran for 2 years on V1 and "PRO" with no problems even cold starts down to 8 degrees this winter no bucking no problems even with 1600cc bosch injectors

Sending back tomorrow hopefully have good news to tell you next week!

That sucks! Hopefully they will get you squared away. The Evo 8 shares the same AEM v2 ECU as the 2g DSM. Were there any wires you had to move?

nope. you just need a different map because of the pinout differences.

Everything was the same as far as MAP input IAT input etc... there are some optional outputs that need changed if you are using them (I was not)
On the 6310 for the 2G you need to make sure MFI coil is switched (In the software) from coil #5 to coil #7 I did this manually with my cal. but it was already switched when I loaded there cal.

The instructions included a quick reference guide that makes it easy! gives you the outputs for the EVO 8 vs 2G vs V1 made it nice

It still doesn't make sense to me that AEM had no way to fool an OBD scan tool into thinking all the emissions monitors are set. So people that have to plug into a state inspection computer every year can run this without a worry.

I don't think it's a matter of them knowing how to do it. I would imagine something like that would be highly illegal, and AEM would be held responsible.

That came out wrong. I wasn't saying they didn't know how to do it. But they have a disclaimer it's for off-road use anyway. An added "feature" like that would be awesome. I don't see how AEM could be held responsible. If the end user is the one trying to fool the inspection machine.

Edit: Sorry for bringing this off-topic.

i agree. i mean look people are pulling off Catalytic converters, EGR solenoids, EVAP setups, and alot of aftermarket parts come with a sticker that say off road use only. i dont see how an EMS company cant do the same thing

It is against Federal Law, I said that already. AEM nor any other company can knowingly bypass the OBDII like that. It is also against Federal Law to change the cat on any car under 100,000 miles, that includes changing to a high flow cat. The rest of the past listed being pulled off like EGR, EVAP etc. are also against Federal Law.

It's a free country though....................

^^

You can't even change to a high flow cat? What is the difference between a factory cat and high flow cat? Is the high flow cat not as efficient as a stock cat?

So the multi point trigger disc is no longer needed with the new box for faster starting?
