Been searching for info on flashing ACD ECU in car. Everything says ECU must be removed for bench flash. Please link info on doing it yourself in car. I have all the flashing gadgets. Even have a gen1 Evodroid...it does not flash...or hold a charge...or let me transfer the APK!

Yeah, you need the 2.0. I've been contemplating the same, but I'm happy with my current ACD tune (I think they are all the same, anyway) so figure why bother spending the $$$. I think a Reflash is pretty cheap, though.

Still only 1.3 cable...but how likely is a guy to blow up the ACD screwing around tuning it? I mean if a tune costs 2-300$USD anyway it makes sense to just spend on OP2.0 as it'll end up at least 100$ cheaper for me because Canada. And if you just gotta plug a wire into an already open pin...

Im testing a few things in 3.5weeks (at our first event). Running OEM two runs, Merlin for remaining. That should reset my feel in what the change does. Then Sunday running Merlin tune first 2 runs, and Custom for 2 runs. But my tune is going to be very specific to my setup. We're feeding info back to see what areas the car works better and where it works worse.

Still fixing leaks and getting miles till then though.

ACD ECU wiring

Forums Gods don’t fail me now!

TL; DR: The Factory Service Manual wiring is incorrect.

I’ve been redoing the wiring in my interior including my ACD ECU and went to reference the FSM and after painstaking transferring everything to Excel found the wiring doesn’t match! Some stuff matches, but most does not. It looks like the widely available FSM online is based on EDM/JDM cars. I’ve searched high and low and can’t find a USDM FSM for the wiring.

I can’t be the first guy to redo this wiring, how have you guys dealt with it? For example, the manual says that pins 19-22 are the grounds from the wheel speed sensors, but our cars don’t have wires in those pins.

If you try and trace a wire from the ECU to the G sensors, the colors of wires along the way don’t match either.

Troubleshooting the wiring is impossible without the proper diagrams. Does anyone have them?

2006 MR for reference.

Thanks in advance!

i have a JDM spec 7 and my colours sometimes dont match either.

I have had to fill in my own ACD pinout because the pinout i got from here is for USDM spec ACD which doesnt have the AYC stuff. and the ground pin (49) for the ABS is actually 50 on the JDM etc.

The way i rewired it is i had the manuals and i pulled the whole loom out and dumped it on the floor of the garage and went through it and labelled it all half via the wiring manual and half via tracing the wiring.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only who has spent some time with the ACD wiring. In our case, the manual says we should have wires coming back to the ECU that don't exist. It makes it impossible to know exactly where each wire is suppose to go to/come from. They pass through so many connectors and change wire color so many times, it's easy to get it messed up!

there should only be 1 wire going to the ecu. pin 87 on ecu to 24 on ACD. and youve got TPS signal in on ACD Pin 18 which splices directly off the tps wiring to the throttle sensor. the complicated part of the wiring is the wheel speed sensors and how they intersect through the ABS ecu.

The wire colour also seems to vary from what my diagrams were saying vs what was in the car. But you really need to pull the harness out and put it on the ground.
