Timing help ASAP

so i just baught a busher head and put on my 05 evo 8. the problem i am having is i can not get all the timing marks to lign up. the top pully is the one that is the problem. it is off my half a tooth, will that cause a problem?

the other thing is what is the fastest and easiest way to put the timing belt back on without haveing to lift the engine up a little.

any help would be awsome. thanks

Use the How-To instruction. I've done mine with the instruction. You need to make sure everything is IN TIME and at TDC to be safe. You're risking other problems for just one tooth off. GL

search in the how-to forums it can be a pain just make sure you use a service manual or a how to write up and double check everything and make sure it's all within spec.

remove the spark plugs and put a long extension in the #1 cylinder. rotate the crankshaft by hand until the extention finishes going up. once it starts to go down, you passed it. check to see if the crank mark is lined up. ( and the balance shaft marks.) then, with the t- belt off, move the cams until the marks line up. install belt and rotate the crank to double check. are you off on the cam marks or the belt marks? the belt marks dont matter. try to find out how many teeth there should be between cam marks. i remember gm stopped marking timing belts to "save money" i guess. lol. they made us count teeth and mark the belt. if its the cam marks, just slacken the belt a little and rotate the cam until it lines up and re-install the belt. the most important thing is to HAND crank the car to check the marks. good luck!
