Back on topic, kind of - I like the look of the TiAL more. I know my issue is bov flutter but when I hear people refer to turbo surge as fluttering I call it out. My turbo will surge in 6th gear above 21psi due to the friggin' bov surge from the stiff spring.

whats mine than? it only occurs in 4th and 5th gear at low rpm's, like the motor cant keep up with what the turbos trying to push into it... its surge isnt it? but you're saying the bov is one of the causes of it?

so basically whats happening is, the turbos trying to push so much air and the motors at to low of a rpm load to ingest it and so it gets backed up and ends up bouncing back and out the bov?

Just because I love Aaron doesn't mean I fantasize about him

I keep forgetting you are still on the 6speed. You have def had better luck than I had with the 6speed.

No you are getting turbo surge! Almost 100% positive

and theres no way to avoid it unless we are in a higher rpm level? that sucks because i like playing with idiots on the interstate that think their cars so fast and i just go WOT in 5th gear and they downshift and still suck i guess this is one of the downfalls of having a big turbo.

That is correct! Big turbos are famous for that. That is why 90% of aftermarket turbo come with or recommend the compressor surge cover upgrade. However, it doesn't fix all the problems, it just helps.

Then sometimes you run into overboost problems in 4th. It is a never ending circle of **** with the evos. Okay dude I'm off to bed I think. I have to get up really early for work...

I can't remember tsc, did you say which bov you have? I'm getting lost trying to keep up with the 2 threads and a couple others.

For my setup in 6th gear at low rpm basically the spring is overpowering the pressured charge that the turbo is sending, due to my lower vacuum for that spring. The BOV vents, which closes the path of the charge, which sends it backwards causing the turbo surge. I'm not sure if that is the case with other setups so it isn't necessarily a cause for turbo surge.

i like it, but like i said its not that much different to me than the stock 2.0. i love the stock motor as much as i love my 2.3. the stock motor can more than hold its grounds. its spooling the black faster than my 2.0 spooled the red though, that much i can say.

that guy on the other thread is half retarded. i rode in 2.4's before, feels similar to 2.3 just even more faster responding and smoother. was a dsm with 2.4 though, not evo.

^I think you said you need to work on the tune some too, which I'm sure will make a big difference.

forge type rs, and when its adjusted the tightest it will handle 48psi in a boost leak test without leaking. mine is probably a mixture of both like yours is.
