Interesting (??) Downpipe.... heh.

Got my evo shortly before christmas knowing it would need a bit of work. Rolled it into the shop the other day knowing the clutch was needing replacement.

I found that I have an interesting "custom" downpipe...check this out...

B-e-a-utiful, isn't it?

There are a few missing nuts and bolts....the gas tank looks like it was ruptured and repaired with epoxy.... more pics here:

Yeah...didn't mention in the first post that one of the front shocks is totally blown and the other is leaking. The check engine light is on but i'm told that's due to the manual boost controller..

I'm going to fix everything. Bilstein kit, exedy twin, new slotted rotors and pads, etc.

Being a bit of an evo n00b, i'm going to have to do some reading to find a decent downpipe to mate up with the exhaust on the car (greddy RSR TB)

if the CEL is from the manual boost controller, simply plug the stock boost solenoid back in and it should go away.

Good luck with that ride bro.

Yep, going to do that, hopefully it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, I'm thinking I might have an issue with o2 sensors. Will deal with those things when I get it back together. First thing I want to do when I get it back together is take it somewhere to get a tune and deal with the CEL if it's still lit up.

I've never seen a downpipe that resembled the elephant man before.

Obviously you shouldnt believe anything about the car that hes told you. The cel is most likely not from the mbc.
