Fp red car acting weird.

Hi, guys I recently installed the FP RED w/ 80mm housing, on my evo 9, everything went good i got my oil line upgraded too and everything fit and sit right. my tune result was 345awhp and 315 tq and a mustang dyno.

OK now the problem, when im driving and i hit under 5psi its perfect if i try to hit it a little bit more like 10-15 psi car will stuttered like if my bov or my wastegate would try to open, my needle on the boost gauge will bounce a little bit , but if I hit it to WOT , the car is fine and will take the whole 26psi with no problem.

At first james (at reese tuning) told my its my bov and to adjust a little bit more but it still doing the same, what I can think is that my wastegate acutuator, becasue im running the stock and not the silver one from FP, since i bought the FP red from a guy selling it at socalevo, it came brand new plastic wrap and everything. but the actuator was the stock one

could that be my problem?

just in case my current mods are:

injen upper and lower pipe kit
greddy type s bov
ams fuel rail
pte 880 cc injectors
walbro 255
perrin test pipe
fp upgrade oil line kit
brand new NGK IRI
BC 272/272 cams
ARP headstuds
aem intake
ams intercooler
buschur ported exhaust mani
invidia o2 ported by mil spec
no name downpipe
hks hi power catback
nology spark plug wires
blox cam gear
BC retainers and springs

Swap on a stock metal MR DV and see if that cures the problem.

Is your Red the 62mm Red, or the 80mm version? I think, unless I am mistaken, that the 80mm Red's all came equipped with the 18 PSI FP WGA standard, or else with the 25# actuator available as an option.

Ditch the greddy bov. Get a IX bov because it should be able to handle 26psi, anything higher, you will need an aftermarket bov. Look into synapse.

The wastegate does not necessarily need to be upgraded to a 18 or 25psi. Try replacing the bov first.

He said it was the 80mm housing in the first line.

Try another bov...and the stock wastgate is probably effecting your spool up.

Forge wastegate, FP 25psi / 18 psi gate should help out the feel of spool up tremendously.

I have the 25psi WG and just by adding preload to it made a huge difference in spool. What is the max boost you plan on running through your car?

As your own tuner, and evo unknown, pointed out to you: It is most likely the BOV. Once you get the BOV problem sorted out, then do as Evoryder suggests and increase the spring pressure on the WGA.

We said try a IX DV, not another BOV.

Am I just missing it in your modlist, or have you not yet told us how you are controlling boost?
