I know one guy who runs a gt40 and a crazy grabby *** clutch and I thought he would kill his diffs to but somehow amazingly they hold up he also said that either rnr or rmr runs the stock diffs on there rally cars so they must hold up.

What are the known symptons?

Most dealerships will not warrenty your drivetrain if you have a different clutch. Techs claim it can rip out the drive train.

the front diff is in the transfer case, the center diff is in the transmission.

Thanks jemm & AMS... !!

So it seems like switch open front diff to EVO RS's front LSD would
be easier by just changing out the transfer case then?

Also, how do one know if the front diff is gone?
What are the known symptons?

TIA,

Marcus,

I have access on getting a transfer cases for Evo 4-7s. The Evo 8 is fairly new and parts are expensive. The Evo 7 CT9A is the same as the 8. How much are you willing to pay on double shipping from Japan. I get it delivered to me and I send it to you. Hopefully the item is not over 70 lbs or else I can't ship it. The items are used items. If you are interested, let me know and I will see the availabilities of the items.

One separate note to everyone, how easy is it to remove the transfer case from the gear box? I am having a hard time removing mine (Evo4). It seems to be caught on some thing and it does not easily slips out of the gear box. I did remove all six 17mm bolts and CV shafts. Help anyone?

Thanks,
Manny

Manny you will need a slide hammer to pull out the shaft from inside the transfer box and also the shaft from inside the gearbox. The shafts im talking about are the ones which your drive shafts go onto. Once you have removed them your transfer box will come off.

Please understand many parts can break during a launch.

It is possible to do damage thats spikes based on high engine RPM and shatter parts during a launch.

This is not because of the EVO. This is launching or heavy driving.

Heya, your AWD (ACD + AYC) Ecu is reporting a fault. Try this first...

1. Make sure you have not overfilled or underfilled your Transfer case with oil recently.

2. Disconnect the battery overnight to clear out the ecu.

If the 3 lights come on again..... take it to the dealer and have them connect the Mut-II diagnostic computer to your car... that will tell them where in the system the fault lies.

Thanks for the info. The rear diff, I will see if any available. Can you specify s,h,E6 rs rear diff's as Stock, ??, Evo6 RS rear diff? Not really sure. Also, where is your location? Shipping may be a snag.
