The 2.5" system will work well up to around 350 hp.

Keep in mind you NEVER want to put a 3" downpipe onto a 2.5" anything. Going from a larger exhaust pipe into a smaller one is absolutely useless and will kill the flow.

This brings me to something.

We are going to start offering a 2.5" downpipe. This will be flanged at both ends, mandrel bent and stainless steel. Same design as our 3" just built in 2.5" and flanged to go to your stock cat, highflow cat or a 2.5" offroad pipe.

This will get a nice high flow exhaust on the car for cheap.

Stay tuned for pricing.

OMG!!

When is this thing available. Put my name down, first, on the "short list."
My custom 2.5" turbo back (Buschur DP, stock cat converter, stock mid pipe, and Buschur Muffler Delete Pipe) will finally be complete.

I'm sure it was posted before, but it would make a good reference point in this thread.

What is the diameter of the stock downpipe?

David,
Will this be a slam dunk fitment (no spacers needed)?

So far none of the 2.5" downpipes I have seen reviewed in Turbo and Modified have sucked...

However AVO just came out with one that seemed to add a couple of HP, but it was an expensive pipe...

Most companies are also recommending that you tune your computer if you add a 3" downpipe to get the most out of the performance...

With the AVO i have seen as much as 25whp peak power made with the turbo back 3' exhaust that they make . But the only down side is using your stock cat which is a 2.5' I wonder what gains can be seen from the AVO system with a high flow 3' cat .
The Vinshu new exhaust system seems nice which a turbo back 3' all the way starting before the down pipe 3' desing all the way throught the exhaust . I havent seen anyone mention this recent exhaust system that has come out

I spoke with the bender this morning. He says he can bend the tubing for us next week. I ordered 15 pcs to start.

This should be a really kick *** way to get the car to run well and not spend much money. I am working on some pricing right now and may end up introducing an "Economy Stage". This would get you everything needed to safely run in the high 12's (maybe better) for $999.

Here is what I am thinking:
BR 2.5" downpipe
BR 2.5" offroad pipe
BR 2.5" muffler delete pipe
BR boost gauge and mount
BR manual boost controller
Super AFC with BR tuning

This is a total retail of $1065. I am going to try and offer it in a kit form for $999. I would like to get a volunteer in here to let us install the package, tune the car and then let him run/dyno it and see what it does. We would do the install cheap for letting us use the car.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes of it.

2.5" downpipes aren't uncommon. A lot of vendors have had them available for a while now.

This isn't a step we wanted to take with the EVO. The fact is there are other vendors with them and there are guys buying them. This makes it mandatory for us to offer the part. I would prefer to sell EVERYONE one of our lightweight highflow 3" systems instead.

Vishnu Turbo-Back Exhaust..........$1150* NEW
There is nothing standard about this exhaust. This is a four-piece, 3-inch diameter, full- polished, mandrel-bent, multi-cut, Complete Turbo-Back exhaust system. By “turbo-back” we mean that it joins directly to the turbine housing of the factory turbocharger, replacing the cast iron turbine discharge housing the EVO comes with from the factory. All other current exhaust options retain this factory housing which is less-than-ideal for maximum turbo performance. Replacing this housing with an larger diameter, tubular turbine discharge manifold not only reduces exhaust backpressure immediately downstream of the turbo (where it is most harmful) but also greatly improves boost control (resistance to spiking, premature roll-off, etc.,)

Equipped with both a large-diameter muffler, 3-inch high-flow catalytic converter and a generously-sized resonator (both straight-through from minimum exhaust gas restriction), our turbo-back is surprisingly quiet and drone-free. Expertly constructed out of 304 Stainless Steel and equipped with a high-quality flex joint, this system will last the life of your car. And at just $1150, it represents an unbeatable price-to-performance value.

It seems thats this is a nice set up , but yet peeps have done no reviews on this system . Which is a 3 all the way through.

Also DAVE does the one you offer retain the stock housing and if so do you have a replacement?

At our Vishnu tuning session, at BM Tranny, two weeks ago, the highest hp car (320 whp) was running a HKS downpipe. I think Puckadog said it was 2.75". Three other cars running 3" turboback systems made 310, 311, and 315 whp. The cars all had cam gears, hiflo cats, and straight through mufflers.

All of the cars running dowpipes/catbacks with the stock cat, were making around 20 whp less. Definitely get a hiflo cat, but it seems that a 3" downpipe might not be required.
