Yep... Exactly what I am pursuing... I called Mitsu myself and the service manager here got mad at me and pulled my car off the lift. So now my car has been just sitting with no work for a total of 2 months. That's almost 1g out of my pocket for nothing. (car payments that is).. My car only had 2,600 miles on it since the last oil change, so therefore I purchased that stupid pit pass for no odd reason......

Just checked mine.
I have 6200 mi. Had the oil changed last by the dealer at 3500, so it's due.
My dipstick reads below the add notch. I don't know how much that is in quarts.
Maybe I should have checked it after they did the service, to see if they added the full amount.

It would be different if mine was the only one with this problem but mine makes the 3rd. Modded or unmodded I don't think that it matters. Mitsu dropped the ball on the oil consumption charts. That's just obvious...

That sucks. There was another thread on here about how much oil you lose between changes.
I ain't no rocket scientist, but I bet that ain't normal....
So much for using the recommended easy breakin method.

No it's not normal by no means... Trust me Ronnie if they end up not warranting mine I will be in court, and I'm sure that your buddy with the black one will be right next to me... Cool! Maybe me and him can split the court costs and lawyer fees.... LOL

A few years ago I owned an E36 BMW M3 and had a similar fate happen to the motor at around 3200 miles. Engine was about 4 quarts low at the time.

Long story short, ended up splitting the cost of a new engine and labor, 60% BMW, 40% me. Hard lesson to learn.

Oil changed at 2500 miles. Hadn't burned a drop. Close to 5000 now, read this thread, and went out to check oil level. Still hasn't burned a drop.

I check my oil once a week and first oil change was at 3700 miles as the book recommended. Each week when I check the oil it is in the middle like its suppose to be. I changed the oil myself because I personally think $73 dollars is rediculouse for an oil change. Here's something I noticed when I was putting new oil in. I filled it up with 4 quarts and it was at the middle level. I thought to myself "well I guess it only takes four bottles" then I decided to take it for a spin and came back, let it sit for about 15 minutes and checked the oil again. Oil was under the low line. Filled it up with half a quart and checked it 15 minutes later and its at the full level. Check it again about an hour later and its still at the full level. Moral of the story keep checking our oil levels and it normally needs 4 1/2 quarts to fill it up.
