I am getting ready to have a custom vband setup done by a friend of mine. He has the 35R turbo and I am wondering is there is a better turbo out there that is similarly priced? Any suggestions? I don't really want to run the same turbo as he has. It needs to have the Vband options though.

 

Prescion 6262 is similar alittle better then a non hta 35r.

 

What are you looking to do with the car ? From the sounds of it you want to be "different" and therefore maybe you should buy a Yugo ....

Do you mean a V band inlet? If so, you can use a Tial turbine housing, or a Precision turbine housing.

What are your power goals? I can recommend a monster turbo, but if its not in your price range or doesnt fit your need, then it doesnt help.

 

My goals are to be in the 550 to 600 hp range with a fast spool. I want a fast streetable car. The only reason I dont want the 35R is because I dont want to copy my friend's exact setup and they are making the custom vband setup for my car. He has the same setup with the 35R and I am trying to outdue him a little bit.

I am not trying to stray to far away from the price range of the 35R.

I have heard a lot of hype about the 6262 so I might go this route.

 

Okay so i have decided i dont care about copying. I am deciding between the 6262 or the 35R any opinions?

 

The exhaust housing options on the 35R is better so you'll be able to carry the torque on for longer and it's ball bearing. The 6262 will make more power because of the compressor. So what do you want? More peak power? Or Slightly faster spool and ride the boost for a little bit longer?

 

Yeah faster spool spool is a must because it is going to be a street driven car.

 

If you plan on sending the standard Gt35r to get the Fp hta treatment then pick that over the 6262 if not the 6262 would be my choice. Good luck.

 

The 6262 comes ball bearing. My choice would be 6262 way better power.
