What about stalling/idling issues? Does it require tuning of the fuel systems or anything of the sort? Also, is it safe for use during wet weather, etc, or does it come with a cover. I had a K&N filter for my last car and it was an open filter, and it never had any problems, but just wondering if hood duct and/or position of filter posed any problems. Also, I had a problem with rattling for my last intake, does this one securely mount to the OEM fittings on the Evo, or do we have to drill holes and/or stick sticky goo to our car to make it work? Just wondering, cuz I want to but this real bad! Also, on www.4fliters.com, is the mitsubishi lancer 2.0L the one for the evo, or is that for the OZ Rally?

rblader86:
The Typhoon Intake Kit will not have any idle issues. All K&N performance products are designed to be complete bolt-on, with no tuning or other modifications necessary. It comes complete, with all the necessary hardware, brackets and hose connectors...no sticky goo or drilling is required! This kit does not include a Drycharger Wrap, but the filter is placed right behind the driverside headlamp. Water ingestion is a low possibility. If installed correctly, no rattling will occur.

Lancer 2.0L is not the correct kit...the P/N you are looking for is the 69-6543 Series.

Hope this helps.

i installed the typhoon recently and it looks really good. it took a while to do and it was a real pain in the ***. the check engine light is not on and it sounds really good when accelarating. the only problem is the sound when i take my foot off the gas. it sounds like a pigeon or a high pitched laugh when someone is covering their mouth. does anyone who has this intake have the same problem? Is it normal and if not does anyone know what could be wrong?
