im a big fan of the coolest air possible taking those items would just allow super heated air to get into the intake....

hey ballistic evo are you a noob? Right when the air hits the turbo it will already be heated up no matter if you have a "cold-air intake" Really no such thing on a turbo car. Sorry

The thing with turbo charged cars is that it doesn't metter what the temp is of the incomming air, all the matters is trying to get as much ait in the turbo with the least resistance.

Why do our cars do so much better in cold weather than in the heat of summer, if air intake temps don't matter?

Air is more dense in cold weather. More is sucked in per cubic foot.

In the cold you would suck in more air if you had an open filiment then a closed box type.
