Twin Disc Question

I'm ready to pull the trigger and get me an Exedy Twin HD for my ride. That said I know AMS sells a 'push' version of this clutch using an in-line slave cylinder unit for a good bit more $$$.

What are the benefits of the push setup vs the factory method?

I regularly drive my Evo, and plan to make monthly HPDE's/track days for the near future. I am at 335/300 but don't see myself going much more than 400/400 anytime in the forseeable future. So for someone like me, is there any great benefit to spending the extra $$ for the AMS push version?

I would say so. You would eliminate the chance of that snap ring letting go on you and you having to rip the trans out to replace a $2.00 part. I have heard this is a common problem with the exedy twins.

If your only worried about the clip popping you can just get a clutch fork stopper. I'm not sure who came up with them first but you can get them from map/ttp and several other places now. They cost about $80 and will keep you safe.

As far as to the benefits of a push vs a pull style clutch, I can't say.

I would read WRX2Evo's review of the Exedy SD. Just a though, might be better suited for your applications.

I am also looking to purchase an exedy twin, but I plan on going upwards of 500whp
