How to test crank/cam position sensor

I replaced the timing belt/water pump/pulleys and my valve springs. I pulled the head to do it. It made the water pump and idler pulley replacement much easier btw. Anyways, now it's all back together and is throwing P0335 and P0340 for cam and crank sensors. It starts up just fine, idles pretty good for about 30 seconds then dies. I verified the cam sensor triggers are aligned properly on the cams.

Is there a way to test the sensors on the car? Also is there a difference between the intake and exhaust cam sensors on a IX? They look identical on the outside.

Thanks.

NVM, apparently the IX cam sensors aren't the same. I went ahead and swapped them anyways and it's running fine at the moment.
