stock block and head with Precision 6265 turbo

hello guys,

need a little advise for u guys....

i have a evo 9 MR JDM with:

stock block and head,
Precision Billet 6265 turbo with full race twin scroll manifold and downpipe,
1200 cc injectors.
Haltech Sport 2000.

rpm going to 8700 with 1.9 bar of boost.

is this setting safe for the stock block and head, or do i need to change the internals???

i.e pistons, rods, crank, spring retainers and so on???

I would certainly upgrade my springs/retainers to push her to 8.7K. There have been both good news and bad news stories of guys using the stock block with upgraded T3/T4 turbos. It all depends on how much torque you are seeking. I threw a rod at 411wtq before my stock block "gave up the ghost". I'd submit to ask your tuner for recommendations.

that sounds about perfect to me if your over 420tq you need to consider highly going built block of some kind and btw as he stated reving that high you better get youself some spring and retainer upgrade.

Changing pistons, rods and crank will let you handle more boost. A ported head would help you too. Is your intake manifold and tb stock?

I used the oem head gasket, no problems up to 45psi FWIW. I have many customers at 420tq 500awhp area on the stock shorty/head but I do limit rpm to 8000 and keep knock under control for safety.

yes the manifold is stock, what a Tb??

but i dont want to go higher than 1.9 bar of boost and rpm more than 8700, so u think im ok with stock pistons , rod and crank???

so u think using cometic gaskit is good idea??

FIY my Rpm have been lowered to 8500 with no knock.

u think the internals will take this amount of boost and still be safe???

Nothing is safe if tune is not correct. If I was you, I would change internals to be on the safe side.
