Need help with a fuel pump switch

I need to be able to turn the fuel pumps on with out turning the motor on. I want to do this so i can disconnect the line at the fpr and drain gas to switch between e85 and 93.

I already have a power wire running from the battery back to pumps on a distribution block. My idea is to run a wire from that power wire to something like a toggle switch and run from there to either the pump power wire or trigger wire. Thats where i am confused. I dont know if i should run to pump power or trigger??

Anyone see any issues to come from this? I know i have seen other people do something like this i just dont know exactly how they have the wiring setup.

Thanks in advance...

Ok so i figured out that because it is a switch with a led one goes to power, one goes to ground, and one goes to pump. but still wondering weather it would go to pump power wire or trigger wire...and if this will work the way i want.

Can you activate the fuel pump solenoid with evoscan? I never really paid attention but I think there are a couple actuators options. If not, just use a jumper.

Maybe you should read again fool. What are you jumping too? I get that your going to jump the relay but are you going to pump power wire or trigger wire?

Im assuming you would just need to give your pump trigger wire 12v and it would turn on.

here is your ultra small wiring diagram from your build thread:

From what I can come up with in my ultra small brain is that if you "jumped" your 12v power wire to the "stock trigger" wire and used a switch in the middle, in theory it would trip the relay, and POW constant pumps. Now this is just in my head. Im not sure how the AEM controls the pumps, or how the stock trigger is actually activated.

Yeah that seems to make sense but doesn't going straight to power wire make sense too? I wonder if one would be better than other or doesn't matter.

Seems that going off trigger like you describe and powering the relay could POSSIBLY lead to more issues than going straight to power and skipping the relay all together.

I think it all depends on how many amps they draw. The reason for the relay is to take load off the toggle. If your switch can handle the current draw, go for it, straight to the power.

I'd also use a momentary switch, just in case you accidentally bump it.

i have no input on this except, if you cant figure it out, you could always just drain both sides of the tank.

After me and gteis300 were looking at it in the garage today I think I'm going to try and wire 12v to the trigger wire and see how it does. Thanks for input.
