Please help! Oil leak that has kept my car in the shop for weeks!

Hey guys please help me out, i am going crazy! I am going down to the shop tomorrow to try and find out whats wrong myself.

They put in a used longblock with 21k miles
They did New oil pump/water pump/ timing belt.

The car now leaks oil after it warms up and is driven for a short period of time.

It leaks from the lower timing cover its to hard to pinpoint an exact spot.

All bolts including tensioner bolts are torqued to spec

Haven't gotton it to leak while just sitting idling but im not sure how long they tried, only leaked after going out and driving and then after you get back.

Has anyone ever had a frustrating oil leak in this location?

Any suggestions?

Could it be blow by?

This one leak is keeping me from getting my car home! HELP

Are you burning oil? Or is it straight up leaking. Might be something to check. My evo used to be fine at startup but after driving and warming up there was a slight leak. Replaced some seals and the leak in the bay was gone but was also leaking into cylinders causing it to burn.

If they did the oil pump - make sure the front cover is on correctly. Also make sure the oil pan (if removed) has been properly put back on.

do you have an oil pressure gauge. My defi and one other one I know of has leaked through the actual sending unit where it is crimped at the end. Pull the upper timing cover and see if oil is on the inside edge of the belt.

There is a ton of stuff that can leak in that area: oil cooler line, oil filter housing, front cover, tensioner, motor mount bracket......

Don't forget about the front crank seal too...if they installed a new one and the spring on the seal popped off it would leak once the crankcase developed pressure, i.e. while driving
