I called up Robert at Forced Performance who knows and stocks all the gaskets needed for a stock-like turbo swap. Be it Green/Red/Black or the BBK the gaskets/washers will still be the same oem mitsu ones.

Yeah I just wanted to replace all new gaskets, washers, lines etc. when I change to the new turbo...

I was also just going to go with the FP Install Kit here - http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Lancer-TurboHW

But not sure if everything will fit with the BBK Full turbo?? like the "FP Custom Oil Supply Line Feeding from Oil Filter Housing"? Will this work with the BBK?
How about the rest of the stuff in the kit?

tthe bbk full doesnt require a upgraded oil supply line, it will bolt on just like a stock turbo. if you want to spend the extra money go right ahead but definately not needed.

So I have a question. I have everything ready and sorted to buy EXCEPT the exhaust manifold.

Im probably going for a stock ported one. A few companies port them but prices differ. Is there a difference in quality????

I was gonna go with PPI b/c there a cheapest. I was gonna Pay $75 for a port and no polish cause im just going to get a heat shield anyways.

Then there's Buschur and MAP which are much more, which get good reviews.

Any advice?

Also would like to know an answer to this question...I guess the question becomes...for the money how do each of the companies compare in porting...PPI/Buscher/MAP...seems MAP is the most expensive...BUT do they actually port better than PPI and Buscher? I noticed the same thing on the intake manifolds...PPI charges $65 but seems as they only port the plenum (from the pix)...where as MAP goes for $250 to $650...but say they port more then their competitors...lol...anyone actually seen all these that can give an unbiased opinion...seriously sometimes the bigger the post count the bigger the BS...

I would like to know the answer to that too. I am still a newbie on power building on an evo. I am most likely getting the BBK setup though. I am somewhat concern about each mod from A to B. My plan is 400WHP but I see this has been discussed. I also have a question too...

1.
The camshaft you guys talk about. I see a lot of owners go for kelford. Is it a preference or they are better? Would Cosworth camshafts do the same or what setups work best. I start to get confuse when people decide to through differ things in at times so please bare with me lol.

2. The full exhaust on our evos make a difference. I see a lot of people go Catback and then do a downpipe/test pipe set up. Would I need to actually need to spend the extra pennies for a full exhaust (I want to keep my cat just because of emissions).
the main reason why I ask this is because my first upgrades are leaning to exhaust, and camshafts. my car is pretty much bone stock besides a new FMIC to clutch and KN replacement filter lol. So i have a long way to go before putting down those numbers.

Any advice on what to replace first for a bbk build?

I can't answer most of your questions, but I think I can comment about the port and polish.

The "polish" they are talking about isn't on the outside of the manifold (although that is an option along with coating it). The "polish" they are talking about is polishing the interior surface of the runners, after they have ported, it to enhance flow.

im in the same boat as the OP. i am going to CBRD in november and they are going to be installing the BBK-B (should be out by then), GSC s2's, springs/retainers, timing belt, head studs and tuning it on 93octane. i'm also planning on buying a ported intake manifold, exhaust manifold and a 65mm TB probably from PPI and i plan on adding a perrin intake with an amsoil filter. i also have an o2 housing that i will like to get ported as well. i will be upgrading my DP to a full 3" from the 2.75" i have now. hoping for 420-450hp. we'll see how well my car handles the new turbo and tune. OP keep us posted!

The only feedback I have for this thread is that CBRD is a top-notch facility! I had my 2003 tuned there about 2 months ago and had a great experience working with those guys.

2. I need a o2 housing. I dunno where the best place is to get one. I was going to go with PPI again and get a stocker ported one or I was going to go with Megan but I heard the Megans give you boost creep. Suggestions?

I was there a few months ago for my tune and i talked to chad about it. He said the megan one will do fine.

5. I know Cams make a difference and ill be honest I am planning on doing them later on, however do I really need them to reach my objective???

As for me i have a perrin intake, 3" TBE with test pipe, Walboro, Hallman set at 24 psi, and GSC S1 cams. I think the cams and chads amazing tune is what helped me get 300 whp out of the small 9.8 hotside on my 03 evo 8.

Just my opinion (that I know some will flame me for):

Being an 8, we don't have the Mivec, so going to a more aggressive cam (S2 or bigger) with a fixed cam degree setting for the intake cam would probably leave you a little gutless in the off-boost department. I know that everyone loves the S2's..but most of them are IX's and can get away with it without feeling much loss under 3500rpms. Driving my buddies IX MR with S1's and mine with S1s (identical mods down to the intake)...his had much more grunt down low..it was night and day (luckyyy).

I felt a difference between stock/264s/S1s. I don't want to get anymore aggressive if I want to keep this as a DD/AX car. The BBK full/HTA Green is the farthest I will go with my car.
If you stay on the forums too long, you will be convinced that you need nothing less than a LR2.4, running an FB black and S2s (at a minimum) just to be an average person!

Does anyone have the BBK full actuator not holding boost steadily around the 23-25psi mark? Recently changed to the MAP 02 eliminator (plump back) and it seemed to make the issue even worse. Should I change to a 1.5 bar actuator? Need help please

That may have something to do with the rest of your setup, some restriction somewhere. What other mods do you have and how are you controlling boost? Also remember the flattest of the flat boost profiles on this turbo are achieved with a BCS.

My BBK Lite with a stock IX actuator and Hallman MBC holds 25psi rock solid.
