Problem with Cable Shifter Bushings

Just installed the bushings and 1-4 feel extremely crisp but 5th is pretty hard to get into. I did a search and didn't come out with a genuine answer.

Anybody have a simple solution? Don't really want to live with 5th gear having to go in like this...

Did you lubricate the bushings before installing them?

Yes with MP grease...is that what it is though? If so, I'll go back and dunk the whole bushing in the tub of grease if I need to.

Just don't understand why it's only 5th gear acting up.

So what exactly is the problem? Not enough grease or is it something else?

well you said you installed it recently so i dont see grease drying up so fast.... i'd basically check to see if your bushing is seized or not first, then go from there

No it's not seized up...I think if it seized up it was affect more than one gear though. I'm just really curious as to why one gear is affected and none of the others.

It does feel a little bit better than it did after I installed it last night so I'll let it take it's course and see if it works itself out or something.

Thanks

yeah i didnt think either but still good to check

when you install the bushing your suppose to lightly sand the piece the bushing into to clean grit and/or rust. im more concerned to be honest something is bent in your shift assembly which was ok with your soft rubber oem bushing which had alot of play but now with your stiffer bushing, your issue is really showing...

Yea I was provided with sandpaper to get any grime off the pin and I used that.

I dunno hopefully it'll work itself out.
