Does the Water pump have to be replaced during a motor swap?

So I know that if you remove a water pump from a motor you are suppose to never reinstall them, but what if I pull my motor in one piece and have it all sitting in one piece, minus the head getting worked on and then reinstall it? With the pump be fine, or should get a new one? It currently only has 40k miles on it. Thanks

I say might as well get another one. Its easier to do maintenance with motor out of car. Do all the maintenance you can to make your life easier down the road.
