If you skim the fly and not the towers, you will have incorrect plate clearances. It is a must.

Having this issue now as well just took my fly wheel to amoco transmission experts..."we can't resurface that fly wheel". HUH! So your telling me something that is recommended can't be done. I am confused what the hell. I know I have done this before its been a while but I did this before I remember getting a flywheel resurfaced. Arg so pissed right now just want my fly wheel resurfaced what happen to customer service.

Just wanted to update everyone... I pulled my excedy twin disk out this summer replaced all the plates and took my flywheel to a local shop with a blanch grinder. Told him to take the same off the towers as the flywheel. It was in pretty bad shap, surface cracks like like someone hit it with a hammer a few thousand times. Installed and was good as new.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but is there a max amount of times an exedy flywheel can be resurfaced? Long story short, the machine shop kinda screwed up and they said they would fix it but I'm sure after all this a few mm will have be taken off both the flywheel and posts. Is this ok? I don't want to take too much off
