I'm at 700awhp with a stock regulator so I can tell you that would be a waste of money, the rail may not be of benefit a that level either. If you need enough fuel for over 500awhp on 93 octane I suggest the BR twin walbro and 1000cc that's enough for nearly 700awhp without a fuel rail. I didn't do a fuel rail until I converted from Q16 to e85 and at that point I also went from 1000cc to 1650cc.
With gasoline, a single Walbro begins to lose line pressure around 525-550whp, as has been documented here some time ago. I've seen 600whp eeked out of a single Walbro and 1000cc injectors, but what's happening is the large injector size is being used as a band-aid to overcome the dropping rail pressure (which makes atomization quality suffer). An aftermarket rail and FPR will not make one iota of difference as Mellon noted.
For anything over 550whp with gasoline, a dual pump fuel system becomes the smart play.

right, I've got some customers at nearly 550awhp on 93 with 1000cc but the fuel map starts looking funky where I'm having to overcompensate at high rpm and that can cause some odd rich on shift issues you don't want. That's why as a rule of thumb I suggest twin walbro for 500+ needs.

noob question: how hard would it be to go from a single walbro (which i currently have) to a double setup? could i just buy a second pump, or would it be easier to buy a pre-made double-pumper from buschur, etc.?
Im on BBK full with GSC S2, walbro, 780cc, and CBRD intercooler + all the boltons (should be around 400-440whp based on dyno).. My tuner said that it would be risky if I dont have an FPR, or, I should have a fuel pressure guage to watch out (something i cant recall or understand) to be on the safe side.. Is that true??
Im on RON 98 BTW!!
ThanX

I suggest you find another tuner, because this one is already feeding you erroneous advice.
ok thanks for the heads up. im planning on getting an hta3586 (or something in that range) and wasnt sure if getting 1200cc injectors would be enough for pump gas and possibly meth. sounds like I'll be cutting it close..

Thank you very much for your coment!!!

Hes the physical tuner, not the one cracking the ECU!! I wanted to tune it through email, tactrix cable by one of the tuners here at Evom, but its a hassle apparently, as they will not really know how to fine tune my car due to the difference in fuel, humidity, overall weather etc!! in addition to the fact that I might get dumped after the first basic tune!!
So im forced, not a hero!!
so do you think i could run E85 on a single walbro and larger injectors (say 1600's?) or would i need a double pumper at that point for sure?
