buschurs intercooler #1

Davids been around for a long time theres a reason for that!!
His parts are always top notch in both form and function. He could charge 25% more for his stuff and it still be worth the money. Ive been dealing with Buchur Racing, and selling his
parts for years ive never been disapointed!! Buy the Buschur
one. Just my opinion!!!!

Guys..not for nothing, but do you cannot compare one to another by looks or the size of the core (which is measured in height width and thickness). Want a simple comparison....ask for the numbers.

Ask about pipe diameter - compare that to the turbo you intend to run.

Ask about pressure drop across the core (though I suspect most will be negliable).

Ask about pressure drop across the piping.

Biggest is NOT always better..it can severaly hurt you in fact. The intercooler, like every other part on the car, has to be matched to the rest of the setup. Small turbo and monster IC = tons of lag, becuase you'lll be spending loads of time filling that IC with air..

IMHO, turbo selection should come first, and then IC.

Eric has it on the head...looks at end tank design as well as ease of install -this can make or break the setup.

Stay tuned to our site soon,a s we'll have full specs for each of the kits we intend to offer.

Yep Intercooler design is much more important then how large it is. Now there are disadvantages from to Bar and Plate over tube and fine. Like Bar and Plate does not cools as good as tube and fine. Also a Bar and Plate IC takes longer to cool if it was heat soaked compare to a tube and fine of the same size. I going to stick with stock for as long as I can. As far as I can tell all the Jap racing teams utilize it.

Also check out the new sport compact car. They did testing between the stock tube and fine intercooler to a Very large Bar and plate IC on there Project WRX.

Good stuff!

Eric

Our lower intercooler plumbing from the turbo to the intercooler will not work with anyone's intercooler other than ours. Our upper intercooler pipe will work with anyone's intercooler but requires our lightweight battery kit. We have been able to eliminate 11 bends and 3 feet of plumbing with our upper and lower i/c pipe kits. The upper is 2.5" stainless steel, it is your choice to get it gloss black powder coated or polished.

Everyone else doing intercoolers for these cars have stuck with the crappy lower plumbing design that is on the car. We are the only ones that have addressed it. The lower pipe we supply has 5 less bends than stock and is 20" shorter. Getting this plumbing more direct, shorter and in a more intelligent path to and from the intercooler helps spool up and hp.

Something has helped us to run 11.65 at 117.88 on the stock turbo, head and engine.

AMS has also improved on the lower IC piping (will go on sale very soon), and also saw the biggest hp gain from it.. the upper IC piping on the other hand gave a very minimal hp increase.. the stock upper ic piping is obviously a pretty good design..

..this mod also took them to their max of 395whp on the stock turbo.. but they never ran on that tune.. their best of 11.85 was done at appx. 380whp...

Go with stock. The rally team uses stock intercooler with 450hp so if you have money to waste feel free to upgrade Well, maybe with less pressure drop you could run more psi but there is already more power than most could handle at low 20psi's.

why so big? ams turbo kit comes w/ a special hybrid turbo that spools just a few hundred rpms slower than stock turbo (on stock internals!) and has over 600whp potential!

they just did 525whp safely here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&postid=555346
