I believe most of the FMIC's will work well with stock turbo. The stock turbo is pretty efficient as we have found in dyno testing.

We did do 390whp on the stock turbo and our FMIC kit. I believe that is some kind of EVO 8 world record.

Questions:
1. What octane gas?
2. What time @ the track?

Here is some pricing

FMIC upgrade $800

Polished SS UIP, LIP, couplers, t bolt clamps, etc.etc. $400

Slim Batt Kit $200

Let me know if you guys have any other questions. Our kit fits the stock sprayer and requires no modifications at all.
Problem is that RNR hardly EVER has any pictures of their product... and the two Evo pictures they do have on their site are horribly SMALL. Therefore RNR can talk until they are blue in the face, but few are going to be interested in the product they cannot see. You would think that a company would produce a visual image of their work, and not hope a random customer will. Esp. when they are claiming to have the best product out there. Coming from an aerospace background, I can honestly say that the majority of the welds on intercoolers in todays market look like ***... then again they are "just" for cars. To clarify, the last comment was not busting on RNR's quality... I have not seen it... only that they have said over and over that they will update their site, and over, and over this has not happened.

David, again, I'm sure your intercooler works great. I still just believe the average Joe Evo owner is going to want something that tucks neatly into his or her car. I mean how many times do you hear on this board, "why would you do 'this or that' to a $30k car?" Again, for the avid racer, I think your the only act in town... and short of a reflash and your intercooler, I'll be giving you a call when I sort out the $58k cut in annual salary I've dealt with over the last week... It kicks you in the *** to lose half your income... I expect to have that straightened back out with in a week or two... hell; looks like it may even work out this week.

My comments are not to inflame, I'm too old and tired for that. I just bring up what I, or other consumers have discussed with me. I think I spend more time answering IM's than I do posting. It seems a lot of the best discussions go on "behind closed doors" since Evom has started going the way of most other "ricer" boards... That was a stab.

Jeez Zeus, tell us how you really feel...have some decaf!

Yeah I imagine a salary cut would suck, but look on the bright side:

At least you aren't a Journalist and Pizza delivery boy who's probably going to make less than $25k this year

Agreed on all counts! Its funny the IM and Pms I get are all moer technical and interesting than the posts on this board. I am probably to blame somewhat with my on board comments but the real evom is "invisable" Paycuts suck give em hell

Thanks, cash flow should be restored soon... I'm sure my "edge" will soften there after. Advise to all the young men out there... Even after you break $100k a year, don't live like it. I remember when I made $7.35hr building commercial and Gov't aircraft (dating myself)... I always had beer money and life was good... people should never forget that.

Back on topic, there was another upstart company that started with an "M" that had an interestingly large bar and plate intercooler for $850 a month or so ago... anyone remember? It seemed well built... I just never heard if anyone broke down and tried one.

BTW: All the American vendors core's are larger than the Japanese Cores. Buschur, AMS, Pruven all have typically much larger cores than the JDM counterparts (for the most part). Keep in mind APS and several Australian companies will be releasing HUGE intercoolers. APS currently has the largest intercoolers available for the STI. The DR650.
