What FMIC Should I Buy!
Alright! New style intercoolers are done. Just finished it up and the car is going back together as I type this. Going to run the car (new RS) pretty soon and want to do it with the new parts we have developed instead of what we have already tested. We are going to call this the Standard FMIC. The other we will refer to (the old design) as the Deluxe FMIC.
Here are the details on the Standard intercooler kit we just finished.
EXACT SAME CORE AND TANK DESIGN as our Deluxe FMIC kit.
Undertray fits perfectly with no cutting or reforming needed.
Kit uses the stock intercooler plumbing or any other plumbing that will fit with the cars stock front mount.
Some things that I do want to point out. The front of the car, in the center has two small mounting screws that pass through the wire mesh, neither of these kits re-use those to mounts, means nothing. As a matter of fact I hate the way the factory has that wire mesh pushed back and bent to access those two screws. We cut the small tab off the back of ours on both of our EVO's and straightened out the mesh so it is flush all the way across, looks a ton better. The lower i/c pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler has two mounts on it, one of them (the one on the side of the core support) has to be taken loose and left loose to line everything up. If you were motivated you could drill a new hole in it and bolt it back down, it is a useless second mount that we just left loose on our car.
This new Standard kit is going to sell for $650. We can start welding them together as soon as we get orders for them. Intercoolers and such are instock so the wait will not be long.
I want to point out what you get extra with the Deluxe FMIC kit:
Lower i/c pipe that is 20" shorter and has 5 less bends in it, includes bolts, gasket, SS pipe and SS flange.
Additional transition coupling needed to install it.
This Deluxe kit is MUCH more time consuming on our part to build, probably takes about an additional hour to build. The tubing and transition couplings are expensive and that is where I am justifying the drop in price.
Thanks guys, operators are standing by....haha

What additional coupling is needed as i am going to be ordering a full stage 2 and the fmic from you guys in about 2 weeks.

Nothing else is actually needed for YOU to do. The coupling comes with the intercooler kit. I was basically showing what is included for the extra $100 difference between the two kits.

silverEVO8, must be one really great intercooler, since you want to get rid of it and all! I will put ours up against that anyday, anywhere and anytime.
