Limt of stock Intake manifold / Throttle Body and 3" TBE
Limt of stock Intake manifold / Throttle Body and 3" TBE
Hi All,
I am currently running a 2.3 / 35r .82 combo with 272cams , 3" TBE , 4" Intake with Pod , Upgraded Intercooler, and piping and making around 400whp (1.0CF) on a Dyno Dynamic dyno on 24psi with a conservative tune.
Im curious if anyone has some info regarding the power limit of the stock inlet manifold and throttle body.
At this stage im leaning towards the exhaust being the restriction, but the Inlet mani and TB could also be an issue.
Also what size intercooler piping do others run with similar setups?
Thanks
Josh

Stock throttle body will go for quite a long time...like 700whp.
Stock intake manifold starts to diverge around 480-500whp.
Case in point-

Same boost (not logged on the one pull), same mods other than the change to the Magnus Cast intake manifold. 2.5" intercooler piping throughout. You will want at least a 3" exhaust system or larger and make sure it has very little restrictions (cat, bends, etc.)

wow... cheers john.
So Aftermarket inlet manifold is a must, will leave the stock throttle body in that case.
Yeah, i have a 3" TBE now, however it has a couple of bends going around chassis bracing. I think i need a 3.5" mandrel bent custom exhaust
