2.4 Reliability

Are there any issues going with a 2.4, that seem to be common on a daily driver?

Im looking at going with a LR 2.4, daily driven, fp black, supporting mods.

I know the head gasket has a tendency to have problems, but I will be going with a Power Enterprise hg.

So what are everyones opinions/experiences?

So far good on all the 2.4s we have done (5 or so this year already). PE seems to keep it from being an issue in any of the 4G64 blocks.

I would love to have a 2.4 but the likelyhood of having to run less top end RPM-Redline turns me off some.

on a 2.4, no way. We custom Cometic. PE makes a good one, too.

When the cam gears didnt get tightened down, every valve hit. It ended up ruining the crank/rods.

So everything is now being replaced, and some people have shown reliability concerns. I havent been aware of any, so I was posting up just to make sure. Which so far it seems to not have any issues.

Well this is my daily, and I like the low-mid rpm torque too much! So the 2.4 seems to fit the bill.
