smaller and spool about 1000-1200 rpm quicker

94AWDcoupe i hear what you're saying. This turbo with a 2.3 would be seemless response, NA like. It would be awesome if they released "staged" turbos though, similar to FP Green --> Red --> Black etc.

Actually now that i think about it, i'd almost consider this turbo for my street car. Imagine coming out of an intersection at 2000rpm and clutch kicking and spinning all 4! Haha thats what the Ti 7 turbo used to do My only concern would be the "lack" of power.

with that in mind, i wonder what this turbo would be like if they upgraded the turbine and compressor sizings so that the spool was exactly the same, but with an obvious upgrade in power.

But as we've already stated before, turbos dont make power, SETUPS make power. The turbo is just a piece of the puzzle
What I meant to say by that was that there may be (literally) only a few RPMs lost in comparison to stock. You know what I mean

sorry i meant to say *It actually spools faster than stock*, i.e. more responsive and more power!
but thats according to that dyno sheet, and it's a substantial amount! 300-400 rpm

noob questins allowed.
FP red turbo made 3076 turbos obsolete. just plain more power under curve with FP red and cheaper leaving more money for other mods.

BBk turbo made original greens obsolete. just a better all around turbo.

I hope the HKS turbo makes the FP and others come out with BB designs. It amazes me the US has been all but devoid of them up till now.

Somebody put this thing on a 2.3 stroker already. I suspect you would have power on tap everywhere from 3000-7000. Just curious where it would taper off at on the 2.3

The real interesting thing would be to see this HKS brewed turbo opened up because they may just have found ways to do things to the cartridge that others haven't thought of .
You wouldn't get HKSs housings if you didn't buy one but I suppose there are people out there that have had comp housings cast up ...
Also if someones cast up alternative TS turbine housings it shouldn't be difficult to do one modeled on a Mitsy TD06 volute and nozzle - in other words make the hot side all TD06 dimensionally .
And another , will HKS offer their turbine housing separately and if so does it physically fit the Mitsy cartridge .

Bottom line , will the Garrett ball bearing pack fit in the Mitsy bearing housing and what mods if any are needed to get a Mitsy turbine shaft through the center of it .

A .
