intercooler sprayer needed?

I'm sorry if this has been cover, but I couldn't if the answer I was looking for.
First, is the intercooler sprayer really needed?
Second, would it still be needed after I replace my stock intercooler, because I would be running a more effective intercooler?
I ask this because I've heard people taking it out to reduce weight.

There is no need for the intercooler sprayer. It is not needed on a stock intercooler or an aftermarket one.

Thanks for the quick reply. My Evo's going on a diet. I read that it weights like 11 lbs. I'm also thinking about taking out the A/C unit, another 29 lbs.

Sorry, I'm already at a 150. I don't have any to lose, lol. I'm adding a little wt. with a relocated full battery, small amp and sub. So, I'm looking to off set a little wt. by removing useless stuff.

If you wanna remove useless stuff, then get rid of ur subs. They drain some bit of ur power away and kinda pointless to have them in a 4 door sedan. I had some in my tibby, but since got the wrx and now evo, they just been sitting in the garage. I did, however, get nice speakers and aftermarket cd player for the evo and maybe gonna amplify it, but thats about it.
And i only weigh 130 so little weighted accessories dont really bug me lol

If you're adding subs and crap like that to your Evo I don't think ditching the intercooler spray reservoir is going to matter. If you were removing other stuff too you might see an accumulated difference.
