I also added an 18" resonator inline at the front of the cat-back since the system came non-resonated (it also comes with a 2.5" step-down designed to bolt to the stock cat, but I changed it to a 3" inlet before the resonator).

When I bought my car, it had a Helix metal substrate high flow cat, and when I removed it, the car did get noticeably louder with the resonated TP, I may switch back to the cat, since I honestly didn't feel any power gains from going to the TP. Putting the cat on again will definitely quiet it down even further. I haven't been in an EVO with stock exhaust since I test drove one in '03, but this setup has gotta be pretty darn close to stock and should have zero restrictions.

Have you checked inside the muffler if there is a taper?

It's offset in and centered out, so it's hard to see all the way through it, but it looks to be 3" all the way through, and as far as I know Magnaflow doesn't taper the inside of their mufflers. I also picked up 2 mph over my previous best on a recent trip to the track with it so I definitely don't think it hurt power at all over my previous 80mm JIC cat-back. I'll be re-dynoing this coming Saturday to see what it makes.

Just got mine in the mail today, I have gsc s2's but almost no lope after the tune. I started the car, held the muffler flush against the tip already on the car and I don't hear any rattling. Next step is to cut off the old magnaflow and slip this one on. If it doesn't rattle I will have it welded. I'll post results next week b/c I don't have the time right now.

How high is your idle with the S2? If you are idling lower that would probably help. I'm idling at around 1150 with the Buschur cams.

Damn thing fluctuates from 800 to 1200. I'm going to get it retuned once it's installed. I hope this all works out, I can't stand rattles. Can't look good in front of the babes with a rattling hoopdee.

Out of curiosity....I have a patent for a sprung valved muffler that I got a few years ago when I was researching it and decided to draw plans up on it. Do you think that there would be any interest if I marketed this. The only downside to mine is that it isn't cheap as the valve is billet Stainless Steel, the entire muffler is rebuildable, and the spring tension is externally adjustable so that you can adjust it without uninstalling the exhaust.

Yeah, that is roughly about the price on it if I were to sell it. It is a really nice piece and quality wise is higher then a burns muffler.

Lol. Well, I'll see how many people would be interested in such an item before I go any further.
