well i ended up selling my JunB.L and i ordered a HKS sport catback from lancershop. i wanted to order from Map but they were sold out

i must say that the HKS sounds a little louder than stock during idle but not by much. during cruise it is quiet, i would say just about the same as a stock catback which i installed after selling my JunB.L and waiting for the HKS top arrive. my car has a Megan 3" Dp and resonated TP. i can actually have a conversation on my bluetooth radio without issues and the car sounds good, not as good as my JunB.L but good enough. im sure it will hender performance a little compared to my JunB.L but if and when i feel it becomes a "bottleneck" i'll add the boost activated cutout prior to the muffler. for now i'm happy!

heres the thread i have on it

The Varex muffler is manual operative. A lot of us dislike having to have to push a button for it to open then push it again to close. We prefer something instantaneous controlled by throttle or boost.

Well to update. My VT muffler after a year now, has started to rattle a little during start up and sometimes from a slow initial take off from a dead stop. I think what I will do now is make 3" exhaust setup and integrate it to an OEM muffler and then use a boost activated cutout right behind the oem muffler. Similar to or most likely exactly how a member here did it.
Varex sells a rpm unit that opens up and set rpm for the lazy guys that don't want to push a button

Sorry to bring the thread from the dead...

Anyone still rocking this or started to use this muffler?

It's been a few years and wondering if they are better now.

I used and canned this . Clanky sounding rattle would never totally disappear. Bent it here or there but mitigated to a different frequency that's all.

Now on hks sport. Louder at all ranges but less annoying.

I'm on s2 cams though stock or lesser cams may fair better.

I just installed it:
Rattles and makes car feel cheap, at 1000-1500rpm.
But cruise it's quiet as stock.

Tre concept works, the execution is poor.
Therefor I plan to make my own.

If/when I do I'll report if results are good.
The sound out if the Dynomax VT is "cheap",
My JIC exhaust sounds great but a but too loud: 98-100dB at idle

The Dynomax is 84-85dB
Huge difference but
Not nice sounding and rattling
Not acceptable

Yup some how my active tail silencer was way quiter.

Still have it although probably a bit restrictive for cams / 71 hta.

Stock cams and the fp white was blowing exhausts apart.
