I hate to hear about the misfortune, but if you love the car, keep it and get a rebuild. Even if it takes a little while to get it right, it will be worth it. Hang in there!

 

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and input. The guys on EvoM have always been great. I've been around since 2003 when I first bought the car, but as timing would have it, I decided to and just sold the car as is. It's been a great car, and I was really torn with keeping it and fixing it, or getting rid of it. With a 15 year old soon to be driving, and a couple other reasons it just made more sense to move on. Man it sucks getting older...! Thanks again and I'll probably still be snooping the forums...who knows maybe a MR touring old guy version in the not too distant future?

You wouldn't happen to have any parts from the old engine that are salvageable would you?

The engine and all it's parts are going with the person who bought the car. I can let him know you're looking for parts when he picks the car up this week.
