evo 7 clutch

Is it just me or is the friction point of the evo 7's clutch really high? My clutch is more than half way out before I get any kind of contact...

I think you can adjust it to your preference, e.g. launch, etc.

Hi, I'm Jeff from Manila, Philippines. I was thinking that I have the same problem as you. My clutch now slides a bit. My EVO 7 is just 6 months old. I'm thinking of changing the clutch but from the techs here in my hometown told me that the first edition of EVO 7s that were made had a defect on the Clutch Master Cylinder. Changing this would improve performance according to them. But the problem is, the clutch master cylinder is not yet available here.

Well, I agree. That's what I'm doing since I can't find the clutch master cylinder yet, but for the clutch itself, I have a new one waiting. I'm just using the stock one until it wears out.

Hey I have the same problem with mine but not only does it not engage fast enough but it slips real easy as well. I reccomend getting a new clutch. Soon I am putting in an OS Giken twin-plate. I have a friend that put one in his and he can launch anywhere in the rpm range he wants and it l takes off like a bat out of hell.

Exactly. The clutch slips a lot and everytime it does it I just feel like I'm gonna burn it ... need new clutch.

evocrazy: That's a defect on all first batch Evo 7 that made. I have a Ralliart Twin Plate Clutch waiting in line, I just hope that its as good as your friend's clutch. Mine doesn't launch at all, it just shakes on the 1st gear and slides on the other gears. ChrisEVO: Hey, let me know what clutch are you getting and how the performance will be...thanks...
