What would you do next?
Well I'm actually a Specialist, Iv been in almost 5 years. I reclassed from MP and had to do a 3355 to waive my promotable status as this MOS was only taking D4 non P and below. That was back in Sept of 08...finally finished AIT in January got to Riley in Feb got Deployed in March and my unit said I have to wait 90 days before going to the board so I SHOULD be able to board at the end of this month and if not then Next month for sure.
Ya... We really are... Sorry OP.

IS this car pump/meth to utilize the 10:1 compression? Since it seems its not going to be an E85 car I was trying to figure out the concept before offering suggestions. My recommendation is establish a budget with a specific power goal. DO NOT STRAY from this. You end up paying for things twice like labor/tune and parts.
I dont want to presume anything about Boomba's dyno but if it were a Buschuresque reading that would be 331 or so on ours. I am curious about the boost (may have missed it) and the conditions it was dyno'd in.

It seems that Boomba's dyno reads pretty low. I believe they had an VIII there with a red running on e85, and he put down 405. Now he just may not be utilizing his setup completely yet either. I was boosting 23 psi tapering off to 18. The weather wasnt too bad, it was like 75ish and slightly humid.
Somewhat off-topic: I'm working on transferring to the Seattle area, and if I get it, I'm sure you guys will be seeing alot of the car lol.
10:1 seemed high for a straight pumpgas car, but since we are 92 it puts it on the edge. I know its not impossible to work with but normally it helps offset a big turbo and large cams. If you end up on the west coast we'll be more than happy to help with the car.
Listen to this guy
My cars gonna be set to run 10:1 on 91 w/ an E85 map though. Should be fine on a low boost map for 91 right?
As of right now, its just a pump car. The thought of running meth has crossed my mind, but I'm still not sold on it. I think I have finally made up my mind and will be going with a black and shooting for 450-475 whp on pump.

Yeah I dont think there is anything wrong with high compression and pump, heck the 2.2 was 10:1. But I do think that if its primary focus is going to be pumpgas and not something like E85 or pump/meth with ALOT of meth then its not needed. I kind of wonder even on E85 how needed it is. We have used high compression as a way to make the most power on a given turbo not because it inherently needed it because of the ethanol.
I still think somebody should just upgrade to a br 2.4 and quit playing games with a 2.3 lol. To the Op get the fp black and hold it down. no sense in getting a 35r now in days unless you get a killer deal on a kit or already had one prior to black showing up. if your straight dragging then yea bigger turbo for sure but if you do other things look elswhere.
okay, when you looking to transfer out here?
I agree. No is NEVER a point for anyone to EVER do a 2.3L again. It will soon be a dying motor. The 2.4/LR2.4 is cheaper, better to rev, safer, better longevity, more horsepower and torque, and about 10 other reasons why! The only one negative thing about the 2.4 is that it gets worse gas mileage than the 2.3... but who cars, we have EVOs, not hybrid cars!

also how important is it to have squirters?

English Racing is leading in Long Rod motor production.
Aaron's personal car has a LR2.4 and he has ran almost every other engine/combo out there for the evo, even a LR2.2 and he said that he will never have anything other than his LR2.4. That is how happy he is with it.
If you wanted to go the cheaper route SBR is now starting to make the LR2.4, however I would stick with ER if you are interested.
You don't need oil squirters. It takes oil away from the crank where it is needed most. SBR however likes to use oil squirters but I think the oil is needed much more in other places in the motor.
Here is the link to my LR2.4 build if you would like to look it over and watch the progress. It will be on the dyno on Tuesday. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...tor-build.html

A pay raise is always a good thing. When do you find out if you get the position?Mikey
