Which standalone ?
well i know the shop i would use .. bm tranny is the only shop i believe in nj with an awd dyno .. they specialize in dsms .. and now evos .. they use the aem standalone .. from what i hear from a firend of mine who knows the owner .. so if i went stand alone i guess i would have to go aem .. since that is wut they tune with .. that and s afc ..
well as far as i plan to tune .. is up around 400 - 450 whp .. i dont wanna get crazy with rebuilding the motor .. i believe 400 whp is very attainable .. 450 with a turbo swap .. might need a standalone .. but i guess ill find out thru the shop as they are out 350 right now with the s afc .. i guess only time will tell

Common misconceptions
1) X is better than Y, although X is $$$ and Y has built in boost control
-There are some average systems, but their are alot of systems capable of handling more power than you'll ever produce,
-AEM EMS Controls the world's fastest import. period. Is it better than Motec? Doesen't matter.
2) You can make up to X HP with a piggy-back
-See Buschur racing ProClass RWD Talon.
I chose the EMS, because it has great literature, great support and can do nearly everything.
It has a built in boost controller.
It has a built in wideband. (1313U).
It has external solenoid and switch controls out the wazoo.
It has nitrous control.
External ignition box available.
What doesen't it have?
(Supposedly the capability to control VVTI in JDM Supra engines... And you'll have to do a hell of a search to pull that up
And once again...
The world's fastest import uses the AEM EMS.
Then again, AEM does own the car.
