Looking to upgrade turbo!

Hi forums, I am new to the evolutionm forums! Im looking to upgrade my turbo in the evo 8. The mods I have on it are as follows:

-272 cams
-arp head studs
-sard bov
-tomei exhaust manifold
- tomei 02 housing
-tomei down pipe
- megan cat back
- turbo timer
and intake filter. It was tuned by a local shop about a month ago making 360hp or 290hp to wheels.

I was looking at getting the evo 9 turbo as it does not require any modifications of parts just a bolt on turbo. Im open to offers, but I am new to the site and know very little!

any help is appreciated!

A 9 turbo is not a direct bolt on to an evo 8. You need an install kit.

Fp black, red, green, cbrd bbk full or light, all are bolt on so you can keep your manifold and dp. You will see much better gains as opposed to going with a stock evo 9 turbo. All depends on what your goals are, and I think 290 is a bit more realistic with you current setup unless you are running meth or e85, and welcome to evom!

FP is Forced Performance. They make the Black, Red, and Green turbos which are bolt on stock turbo upgrades.

The BBK turbos which are also bolt on stock upgrades are sold by CBRD

FP Black FTW. Shouldn't get anything smaller unless you are doing autox or something of that sort!

What turbo you want depends on what power you want to make. Figure out a power range you want to be in and then we can help choose a turbo. Because people just naming all turbos does not help.

Yeah.. sure.. why don't you talk about having to spend much more on a clutch upgrade or how about you mention the aweful spool up. I am glad that you love the FP Black but each turbo has its unique caracteristics.

Also, why not to mention how unusable the FP black is unless you run insane amount of boost?, Just about any other smaller turbo tuned for 25psi or below will destroy a FP black in a short roll acceleration or in other words a FP black shines on HP at high levels of boost otherwise it loses HP and tq when compared to other smaller turbos ran at lower boost.

I am not hating(I have a HTA Green myself) but like I said before each turbo is a compromise and a FP black shines on some areas and lacks on others. my .2c
