1st gear whining, 5th gear grind?

Well hello forums! I purchased my evo for 14k about 2 months ago, it has 56700 miles clean title and runs good. I recently had it tuned, and now it is at 365hp or 290whp! when I purchased it, it had a weird whining noise in the first gear maybe transfer case? also when I get on the evo, I shift into fifth and it will do a slight grind but if I go slowly into 5th there is no problem?

I have no idea, the car was only driven 500 miles in the year the guy had it, due to him not even having his license and he purchased it from a friend.

I did however, purchase some tranny fluid, rear diff and transfer case fluid!

please help, thanks in advance!

I purchased some new transmission, transfer case and rear diff fluid. may that cure some of the grinding?

well....there def was a syncro issue in our model...

being on the forums for a while i have seen where fluids cleared it...but as a patch and it came back for some..as others were fine.

you can also try adjusting the clutch pedal a tad higher to see if the 5th gear grind goes away.

First gear has a crazy gear tooth angle. I think it's normal to hear whining in first gear.

I took it to a dealer ship because I saw a red evo and was looking to trade. The owner test drove my evo and said its not normal!
