Flame away.....

Yeah i know your prolly gonna flame me but i dont care. I have been running an HKS SSQV VTA with the MAF since 2005 and no issues. Always opened no problem, never stumbled, and only fluttered when i half throttled. I have done some searching on here and can find no usefull info since all the posts i see when people have issues is to just get rid of it. Recently it flutters when i completely lift off the pedal. No matter is i barley give it throttle or if i WOT and let off it flutters. It has been running flawlessly since 2005 so my question is can they get dirty inside and that not allow them to open all the way? I can just tell after all these years of having it that it doesnt seem to be opening all the way. And yes i have checked the vacuum lines and the fit on the pipe to make sure all was secure. I live in phoenix with alot of dust in the air so im thinking maybe after a few years of that it is dirty inside. Anybody care to chime in?

yup. just pull it off and take it apart. use a metal brush to clean out all the gunk then put it back in. should help at least some what with the fluttering. gl

Definitely sounds like something is sticking. Pull it apart and clean it as best you can.
