Change old FP Green to HTA FP Green or Not?

Not sure if this has been asked in the past. Searched the threads but couldnt find anything.

Are there any guys out there who have changed their old fp green to the newer HTA Fp green on their evo8/9?

If so has it been a worthwhile change? Are the gains significantly more than the old generation FP green?

Thanks

The gains are much much better than the old school green. It is well worth the money, and can really make you a monster street car. I am at 500hp/500tq with the new green with more to give. I am expecting mid 500's in each of those categories on a Dyno Dynamics here in a few weeks. The car is at the body shop right now getting some minor scratches fixed, after it is back I am posting the build thread with the final results. For what its worth, on the stock motor with supporting bolt ons my HTA Green on the stock 2.0 put down 430/410ish on a Mustang Dyno. It is well worth the upgrade.

There are also many threads about this out there....

There are some examples of numbers others are putting down. There is no way the old school green could keep up with those.

Thanks Bud. Appreciate the feedback.
First hand experience really helps with these choices rather than hear say.

Change old fp green to new fp red

The old fp green doesnt flow as much air as the new fp green. HTA is FP's compressor wheel, plus the new Greens (as do all the FP Turbos) come with the anti-surge port.

The old green was ~47 lb/min compressor. The HTA green is a 54 lb/min compressor.

The response is great. I was building serious spool in the 3,000 range hitting full boost in the early 4,000's. I have to double check my dyno graph though to verify this and give specific numbers. The spool is a little bit better with my 2.1, but either way the turbo is just a great option for those looking to make a hell of a street car with amazing torque down low.

The HTA Green does have a revised exhaust wheel I believe, and as stated above it flows a decent amount of air better than the old school green.

Its not worth sending your evo green for the conversion. Its better to sell it and buy an evo 9 turbo for the conversion. they charge the same price for conversion. whether you send evo 9 or evo green.
