Intercooler sprays

I don't have one... I know some people do. I know my STI friends have them...

But I want one also... I was thinking of buying a kit. I saw one made by sard which has an automatic spray depending how hot it is.

Here it is: http://www.more-japan.com/product.ph...cat=558&page=1

What are you guys' take on this? Will it be worth it?

intercooler sprayers are completely useless. so many people who have them stock on there 03s take them out. just buy a good company intercooler like ams/buschur/ets and ull be fine. dont waste ur money on that sprayer put it towrds a good intercooler

actually the computer logic is flawed on how their setup on the evo 8 meaning not as efficient as they could be
, the system can be modified and actually be useful especially for street/track use and has also shown gains on stock evo's .

The purpose of the sprayer is to remove heat through atomization of the water vapor as it vaporizes off the intercooler it carries heat in the water away from the surface lowering the i/c temp in the process ..

heres a link for everything you need to know and why it IS a good idea , btw most jdm and euro models kept the i/c sprayer it just wasnt cost effective for usdm models ...

I have an 03 with the IC sprayer I think I'm going to remove. You want to buy it?

for the price, i'd just run a cheap meth kit setup with a small nozzle and just water.

I have upgraded core... and looking to maximize the cooling. I drive a lot. And being in california weather can be hot. Also like to run the car hard during track times.

meth kits are really hard on the idle control motor , they dont last long in the evo 8/9's unless you plumb it after the throttle body

Very true with big nozzle, less true with small nozzle, even multiple small nozzles equivalent net qty as a large one.

Even if you had it, its useless unless the water is cold. I took mine off my 03 to make room for intake ducting! I use a sprayer from Home Depot during autox events. I fill the container with ice and water, so the spray is nice and cold, not only for my i/c, oil cooler, and tires, but keep me cool!
