4g64 Or 4g69
just vented my 2.0l giving serious consideration for the 4G64 conversion as I need bare minimum a new short block. I have FP4R cams and was running E85at 32psi before #3 rod toasted. Not going to have money for the turbo upgrade yet but I have FIC1050's which were at 70% IDC . Will my stock turbo work at a lower boost level and still make more tq with the increased displacement?

I feel the need to brush up on street slang and regurgitation when I revisit some of these threads. Thank you to all who have provided open minded factual information for those inquiring minds. Options and variety are key to advancement. Keep the updates coming and the egos tuned down
hey guys just an update i got the 9.5 comp. and i upgraded the turbo to 6262 waiting on rods and the block and head to get back from machine shop. But i have to slow down on the build for now because i ran in to some problems that have to get sorted out i was so close

I would go with the 64 crank and make your 63 a 2.1L just my opinion

jameswwt I mean 4g64 or 4g67 crankshaft into a 4g63t block.
I know this thread is a few months old but I have to say thanks to everyone posting in here for the wealth of knowledge this thread has helped me out a lot in figuring out what is necessary to build my 4g64
Ok reviving from the dead.. What are the thoughts on a 4G69 block, 88mm crank, 150mm rod, standard wrist pin height 87mm 4G64 10:1 pistons? I may be wrong, but I think the math works out there. That way you keep the great rod/stroke ratio, but get the 87mm bore.
I am unaware and haven't searched just yet, but could you just bore the 4G63 to 87mm?

Because the deck height is 6mm shorter you have to raise the pin 6mm higher so you cant use an off the shelf piston. Save 250 not buying cam gears but have to pay it out for custom pistons.

It was my understanding the blocks are the same, but the 4g64 is 6mm taller.
Do they have different bore spacing?
