clunking/rubbing noise from under the car

My car started to make a rubbing noise a couple weeks ago and now it has turned into a clunking that i can almost feel in my seat. I thought that maybe my drive shaft was out of balance becuase my exhuast has been hitting it cause its way to loose. I got a good deal on a used drive shaft and replaced it. Same problem. Does anybody know what this could be? Also the dealorship replaced my clutch about 2 months ago if that might have something to do with it.

r u sure the rubbing noise wasnt the exhaust hitting the driveshaft a little, then gettting looser, and hitting it harder, thus, the clunking? So you just replaced your driveshaft without fixing the loose exhaust? If so, i wouldnt be suprised that its still "clunking". Need to get that exhaust tightened up.

under what conditions do you hear the noise? does it increase with engine speed? vehicle speed? Does it do it at idle? In a certain gear? At a certain speed? When you hit bumps? With little to no details, theres so many possibilities. With that being said, my next guess would be suspension.

It does it all the time above probally 10mph and it changes slows down and speeds up with the engine speed. It does it with the clutch in or out and also in any gear. bumps dont affect it.

i feel like an idiot to admit this, but it was loose lug nuts. That should have been the first thing that i checked. I guess paying the dealor 1300 to install a new clutch, still isint enough for them to tighten your lug nuts all the way.

Nope, torquing the lug nuts gonna cost u extra.
So, the clunking was your front wheels sliding around on the studs? Ouch...

yup but i cant complain too much becuase i fixed my problem for free when i was expecting it too cost me like it usually does. 3 of my lug nuts were a quarter turn loose, but i guess thats all it takes to make some noise.
