have you concidered running a racing oil like Racing dominator 15W50,,, loaded with zinc and phos helps a little with those touching metal to metal surfaces,,,, i know you been using 20W50 though,, i would like to see a higher zinc and phos oil in the race motor

I did not total it or grenade it. The motor burned 3-4 qts of oil on a long trip from pa to oh and i didnt check the oil and it was to late and spun a rod bearing. it only had 5k on it and from my research running at the same speed for over 500 miles is the worst thing you can do to a new engine.

The motor still is using the

same pistons
same rods
same block

It just needed a new crank, new bearings. Its using the same head also.

was 1k for repair and ill pm you price of oem hardware.

Why are you burning oil on a new engine ??? I really don't understand this....

Granted I have not built my Evo motor yet, but every other motor that I have built did not leak or burn any oil...

****s all the same. you're not supposed to break a motor in with synthetic oil. the only thing that will complain is the turbo, which is why i have it running off wastegate pressure right now.

I used autozone, advanced auto, and i have valvoline also. all conventional oils are the same for the most part. after the valvoline im gonna put the amsoil back in. whatever im doing is working.. it already has 10-15psi more compression across then the old motor did. no point in using good oil when you're changing it in 15-25 miles. the idea is to change it and get the metal deposits out of the oil.
