Hobbs switch/solenoid boost controller

Anyone try this?

In order to eliminate any spike beyond 28PSI, I was thinking a 30 psi Hobbs adjusted to close a ground to a solenoid on the WGA at 28 psi can do the trick. It's on a BBK full so WGA preload can be adjusted to maintain just below 28 from 5500 rpm up with it's flat linear backpressure characteristics, and the switched solenoid could chop off the spike above 28 below 5500 rpm. An adjustable bleeder in line can soften any boost oscillation, I can vent the bleed back into circulation through the maf pipe to eliminate venting unmetered air.

Should I try it

I wouldn't want to have to rely on a Hobbes switch to control peak boost level. Hobbes switches are cheap, unreliable, flimsy little devices.

If money is no object and you want maximum spool response from your BBK. Then, manually preload the turbo's integral gate to 28-29 PSI. Install a dual flanged ETS exhaust header equipped with twin Tials set at 30 PSI and controlled via a T'eed MBC. This will setup will provide rock solid boost control and the fastest spool available w/o any worry of overboost spikes.....Besides' you would have the only triple-gated BBK on earth.
