Clutch/flywheel recommendations for 400whp

Hey guys,

Temptation got the better of me last week after being careful not to launch on the stock clutch, was up alongside 2 other Evo's and smacked it off the 2-step, a week later its not slipping for a half second whilst coming on boost.

So... I dont' have an unlimited budget but am prepared to spend the cash and do it right.

- 400-420whp max power (9RS turbo maxed on E85) is what the car will eventually make.
- Dont' really drag race, however give it some curry from a dig every now and then on the street.
- Road racing, touge style hill runs and occaisional hill climbing is the main use.
- Has to be streetable, my wife drives the car on occaisions, she's not a douche as she can drive our WRX with a 5-puck, but pedal has to be fairly sensible.

A mate had an FQ400 spec Alcon 6-puck in his E9 and it was awesome, streetable and stock like pedal, can't find them though.
Looking at the competition clutch range, any good?
If I need to replace my flywheel, should I go OEM or lightweight?

Cheers
Ben

Sort of offtopic, but doesn't the ACT's lock out in high rpms?

Read more bad that good about the ACT stuff, what about Competition Clutch job?

Even their stage 3? Would rather stay full face if possible, but unsure if it'll hold up in 20k km's.

More problems with the full face disk cause it's to heavy.

Lock out happens more with the full face disk rather then the puck style its the weight of the disk and adjustment is more the issue with the act lock out issues. You just said you liked your friends 6 puck disc setup??The act does grap rather hard and it chatters like a ***** sometimes I hate it but it holds power and for the money it can't be beat..Next clutch for me is a triple disk !!!!!!!

Thanks for the referral 4door Comp Clutch will not hold the power you're looking to put down sir. I personally have the Fidanza 4.3 with CCI flywheel in my Evo and couldn't be happier. I'm making just over 400whp and its holding up great, pedal pressure is like stock and driveability is amazing, my fiance drives it daily with my two year old daughter

I'm not sure if that power is accurate Chris, i'm trying to compare US dyno readings to ours here in Australia.
It would be about 350-360whp on a Dyno Dynamics in shootout, which is what we mainly have, thats about 400whp on Dynojet from memory??

The DD local to me is very close to our Dynojet in shootout mode without any correction, but I'll be honest I'm not familiar with the software and settings of the DD.

Act hd sprung 6 puck. Engagement is quicker than stock but it holds the power and pedal isn't too heavy.
