Clutch

I have read plenty of threads on multiple clutches on here, but my question is different. I know that just about everyone is going to say Exedy twin disc but I want to know if there is any other clutch to consider. I have 460hp and 440lbs of torque. I rarely go to the track now b/c of my lack of time. I use this as my daily driver and want to still have a smooth drive. I do mainly moderate acclerations but do occasionally launch the car. What other clutch is there to consider. Thank you in advance fro your response.

ACT Ex. can handle, and be light on the left leg. Twin plate would be the next choice.

Personally I'd go with an ACT 6 puck sprung or a Comp Clutch Stage 4. Most shops will push the Exedy twin since they have so much invested into being able to sell them at such competitive pricing but I prefer the single discs.

Yes the act 6 puck will hold lots of tq and power but for a daily driver its a bit annoying due to the chatter and more chatter it has very harsh manners expecially when shifting hard and fast feels like the car is gonna break..

Your best bet for you would be the act solid street disc with heavy duty plate and street light flywheel which drives smooth but sometimes has lockout issues.Or just do the 6 puck no lockout but drives a bit harsh you have to make your mind up and choose the right application for you needs...good luck.

The exedy twin has arguably just as much chatter. The 6 puck sprung disc is not nearly as harsh as the unsprung disc which I'm assuming you're thinking of.

The full faced street disc has the tendency to cause lock out at higher rpms. No matter which clutch you go with, engagement and basic driveability will have to be relearned.

I have the 6 puck sprung and it chatters but the good thing is no lockout issues.
