Oil Pressure Switch
I'm having problems with my oil pressure light flickering. Since the switch is cheap, I want to try that first, but I havent been able to find any threads on where this switch is located? Anybody know of any? Or know of where this switch is located?

If memory serves. That one is on the back of the block, below the intake manifold -- impossible to get to without really long arms or hours of wrenching.

EDIT: maybe I'm on crack. I thought it was right next to the knock sensor, but now I can't find it...
EDIT2: I'm almost positive it's back there. I remember replacing the blade connector on it. I'm still looking through the service manual.

no its not. its nowhere even close.
peer down between #3-4 runners on your intake manifold. there is a little goldish sensor with a one wire clip connector. that is the culprit. 27mm deep socket is required, you can get the replacement part at Napa.

If you read the attached, you'll see the sender and see that I am right ..

Oh and yes I have tested the sender before and can verify that Robert (FP) and the Mitsubishi shop manual are correct ...
If you are referring to this : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-location.html
that is the knock sensor....

Ummmm sorry but I respectfully disagree....I have no idea what you are looking at, but I'm going to guess it is the knock sensor. The oil pressure light aka 'idiot light' sensor is near the oil filter and commonly triggered when people install aftermarket oil pressure sending units.

its super easy, and the correct one to swap in this case.
reach your left hand down behind the IM, put the 27mm deep on the unit, put the ratchet on, crack it, take it out by hand. new one comes with red locktite on it so it wont leak, done in 5 mins, without jacking up the car.
just make sure its cool and you are good to go. part is less than $15
hope it helps!!! and cij911 its all good buddy, im just certain in this case cause i did it month ago myself for exactly the same issue. cheers
