Oem Balance Shaft Reliability?
the balance shafts are dead reliable as long as metal particles are not going through the oil. even if you are making 1000whp they are no less reliable than on a stock engine. when engine sees detonation small particles of metal will shed from bearing shells. these particles go through the main and rod bearings without too much trouble. but they will not go through the balance shaft bearings well. the shafts dont have enough mass so the shells and shafts score badly.
most engine builders remove shafts for reliability sake. I myself hate the vibration issues that develop no matter how well the parts are balanced. the harmonic vibrations that occur end up rattling the dash which drives me bananas.

Just wonder is there any marking for the balance shaft???
I know there are marking for timing belt and what is the possible effect if we did not follow the bs timing mark but just the timing belt mark?

There's marks for both but one balance shaft is geared off of the oil pump so when this mark is lined up it may be correct or out 180 degrees. The result of having one or both balance shafts out of time is increased vibration.
